Octo Octa – I Can Feel You (Dub Version)

>

After hearing the deep and lush sounds of Brooklyn-based Octo Octa’s Rough, Rugged and Raw late last year, I knew there would be more sublime electronic music to come. If you’re not familiar with LA-based label 100% Silk, you should definitely check them out. Their releases are varied in style and inspiration and when I heard that Octo Octa was back with his Oh Love EP, I had to get involved.

The highlight of the record for me is the dub version of I Can Feel Your Love. This track is at the top end of 100% Silk’s spectrum, concentrating on crisp, smooth production and a haunting deepness.

The track slowly filters in, before dropping into a heavy crescendo of sub bass, keys and crunching kick drums, which harks back to the sound of early nineties rave, whilst keeping a clean, polished edge. As the sultry female vocal repeats, each element of the track takes hold and swirls around you, making it perfect for the dance floor.

With a constantly evolving and unique style, who knows what to expect next from Octo Octa?

But for now though, enjoy…
